Dodgeball Nationals 2026

We had an outstanding team and an incredible journey throughout the year, winning three championships and finishing as Regional runners-up, securing 2nd place in the Regional Finals. We felt confident that we had a genuine opportunity to challenge for the National title.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as we had hoped. A month before the Nationals, we lost one of our key players to a broken finger, and just one week before the finals, we lost another key player to chickenpox. Losing two of our strongest players at such a crucial stage meant we had to completely rethink our approach.

As a result, we travelled to the Nationals with what was almost a completely new team. The lack of experience showed in our opening two matches, but I was incredibly proud of the way the players responded. Rather than letting the disappointing start affect them, they showed resilience, determination and excellent character by finishing the tournament with two convincing victories.

St Michael's 7 – KGS 5
Stingrays 8 – KGS 4
KGS 10 – Wroughton 2
Wynstream 3 – KGS 9

Unfortunately, those results were not enough to secure qualification for the quarter-finals, and we finished in 12th place out of 22 teams from across the UK.

Coach K reflected: "While the final position was below our expectations, I couldn't be prouder of what this group achieved. To qualify for the National Finals for the fourth consecutive year is an exceptional accomplishment for a small school. Winning three championships, finishing as Regional runners-up in 2nd place, and competing against the best 22 schools in the country are achievements that every player should be immensely proud of. Despite the setbacks we faced before the tournament, the team showed resilience, determination and outstanding character throughout the competition, and I believe that reflects everything KGS stands for."
